Chillaxin

Hi, everybuddy! I am doing better and betterer! My scab finally is completely gone! Hooray! My scar is very red. Mom has to get some Vitamin E cream to rub on it now to help soften it because it is very tight.

I am much more interested in Outside, but still a little bit nervous. I want to go Outside… but not too far away from the patio. Those goosies are very intriguing!

We’re baa-aack!

Now that Whitey is well on his way to his happily ever after, we are also very happy that we get to resume our regular blogging now! Hooray!

This is our lookout spot at night. Mom never closes the blinds on this window. Ever. She tried to close them when we first moved in, but we kept pawing at them to Open, Open, Open.

Mission accomplished. hehehe.

Wow! My wonderful friends Milo and Alfie Marshall sent me a gift from all the way across the pond! Sidmouth, Devon, England, in fact! I can not believe their thoughtfulness and generosity!

You may recall the reports of the CPS (Cats’ Prosecution Service) investigating a serious crime and the Sidmouth Two being arrested! Well, that was Milo and Alfie. It seems they had been accused of opening the original package addressed to me. In fact, there was so much circumstantial evidence that they were even arrested! Can you imagine?

Quite a fuss was made of it, akshully. As soon as the news reached the Cat Blogosphere, the entire Cat Blogosphere community rallied to their defense! Fortunately, both Milo and Alfie were granted a full pardon! As it should be, because when all facts were looked at, it was clear they were merely doing a thorough job of Quality Control.

Milo and Alfie used their very own pocket money to send me some awesome gifts! There was some wonderful Catnip and a mousie, some nip-flavored treats, a lovely chartreuse jingle ball – and my purrsonal favorite – some imported Chicken Flavour Thomas Cat Treats! Nom, nom, nom!

They also sent a gorgeous woven print of cats, which just happens to be in Mom’s favorite colors! Being the considerate Mancat that I am, I gave the print to Mom to enjoy!

Thank you, Milo and Alfie! You are the bestest buddies EVER!

I went to see Dr. Dave for my 3 week follow-up and booster shots today. I was very brave!

Guess what? I have very tough Mancat skin! My skin did not want to release the needles, even though I did! Dr. Dave says when a male cat is not neutered for a long time his skin thickens. I guess that mean that I am a thick-skinned Mancat! Mrow!

I weighed in at 10.4 pounds – that’s a total gain of .8 pounds in 3 weeks! While Mom thinks I am still too thin, Dr. Dave says I am just about right!

My wound is healing quite nicely. The scar tissue is still very tight, and that is why my left eye looks like I had ‘plastic surgery gone bad’. Dr. Dave told Mom to get some Vitamin-E cream and periodically rub some on the scars to soften the scar tissue. Dr. Dave thinks my eye will open normally again once the wound is completely healed.

Dr. Dave said that the wound was very, very deep. He also said that if Mom and Uncle Allen had not rescued me when they did, I probably would have died. Wow.

Rather than do a parasite check, Dr. Dave decided to just worm me and call it a day! So I got a yucky pill and a half.

My eyes do not react to light properly. My eyes never go to slits. Dr. Dave says that is because my iris doesn’t react properly and so can’t adequately change the shape of the pupil.

Dr. Dave agrees with Mom – I am an older cat. But I’m not telling how old!

All-in-all, Dr. Dave says I am doing GREAT! He also said I am a wonderful cat. I think Dr. Dave is a pretty good judge of character, don’t you?… Even though Dr. Dave said he didn’t want to see me for another year!

See my collar? In just a few minutes, Mom will not be able to find it anywhere. It’s a little game I like to play a coupla times a year. hehehe.

This morning Mom and Uncle Allen are taking Whitey in for his 3-week boosters. Mom can not wait to see how much weight Whitey has put on. We are hoping for a pound! He has a few more pounds to go, but he’s made great strides in 3 weeks.

Mom is still a bit concerned about Whitey’s eyes, especially his left eye. It is still not completely open, although all of the swelling seems to be gone. Mom plans to discuss that with the Vet.

Now where did that collar get to?…

Look everybuddy! I got to go Outside yesterday for a little while. It’s is the first time since nearly 3 weeks ago when I got Gotcha’d! I sniffed, and sniffed and sniffed some more! My Daddy made me stay in his lap or on the patio table while he kept hold of me, but it was lots of fun anyway.

Mom says she is going to get me a harness. Then I can walk around in the grass and smell everything in my new yard at the swamp! I can not wait to go exploring! Woo Hoo!

Life is so good now!
